TEXT: JOHN 20:1-20
Brethren, it is Easter again. A time so precious to us all Christians to reflect on the basis of our faith. Rather than do that; this precious time has become a time of frenzy for Easter basket of eggs and bunny. Is it really about eggs and bunny? Of course, NOT! On a deeper reflection; Easter is the basis for the life of peace, purpose and promise that we Christians cherish and enjoy.
When Jesus appeared to His disciples the first Easter Sunday, His first words were “peace be with you” –John 20:19. He died and rose from the grave so that we Christians could have peace with God; peace that wealth cannot buy peace no one can give the type of peace that is everlasting. Alleluia! Because of his death we are assured a life of hope; a purposeful life. Jesus’ death on the cross also reminds us of the love, God the Father has for us. All throughout His Ministry, Jesus promised life-everlasting to us believers. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life”.
Beloved children of God, Easter is so much more than candy, colored eggs and bunnies. It is the cornerstone of the Christian faith; the celebration of Jesus rising from the grave, conquering death and giving us peace with God; a purpose for life and the promise of heaven.
May you be blessed with immense love from God, who will bring abundant happiness in to your life by filling your heart with peace.
HAPPY EASTER!
