It is not natural for a man to fly. He can walk, run, and jump, but flying
as an ability is beyond the natural man. This is because God created
man to be limited. Limited in strength, limited in power, limited in
knowledge, and limited by time. Hence, he is wearied by running and
faints when he walks. His effort cannot sustain limitless possibilities,
irrespective of the intensity of effort. There are many things that
remain impossible to the man who lives by his effort, ability, and
wisdom. There are mountains that the arm of flesh cannot surmount.
There are battles that the natural effort cannot subdue (Zach. 4:6).
Such feats require an outsourced strength from The God of infinite
power and strength.
The irrefutable truth is that, while we are limited, Jehovah is limitless.
While we are weak, He is the Almighty. While we grow weary and faint,
Elohim endures forever as the ever-present help in time of trouble.
Many have chosen to live on the terms of their limitation, but God is
calling His church to exchange her weakness for His strength. He is
calling us to stop struggling in our self-effort and patiently wait on Him,
in prayer, for help. He is calling us to stop living as mere men and
depend on Him to carry us with His wings (Ex. 19:4-5). His limitless
power is available only to those who wait on Him. Today is a day to
humble ourselves, acknowledge our limitation, recognize that we need
Him and cry out in prayer for His help – Lord, carry us on Your wings.
Prayer Focus: Lord, I repent of my attempt to help myself without You.
Today, I recognize you as my Help and I ask that You empower me to
mount up with eagle’s wings in Jesus’ Name.
