TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:14-21
Brothers and sisters in Christ, God specializes at turning emptiness into fullness. He specializes at making something out of nothing. Hebrews 11:3 says “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible”. This informs us that God called the universe into existence out of nothing, that’s His specialty. God has powers and all are things are possible with God. God has attributes and one of His Attributes is love. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16.
Beloved, throughout Jesus ministry on earth, He was always interested in the emptiness of people. He was drawn to people who had nothing, no money, no hopes, no reputation, no respect, nothing at all. So He’s not stressed out when you come to him with nothing to offer but what He wants is for you to realize you are empty, so that He can fill you. He can turn your emptiness in to fullness. Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:17, “I pray that you may have the power to comprehend with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”. In other words, no one and nothing in all of creation is beyond or outside of the saving power of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. We need to pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will give us mighty inner strength through His Holy Spirit. For God to give according to the riches of His glory is absolutely staggering, because His riches are limitless and completely without bounds! All evil intentions fornication, pride, theft, murder, adultery, lying, wickedness, backbiting, deceit envy, slander, come from the inside of man and when our inner being is given strength and power, they are driven out and replaced by the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit; by Christ Himself dwelling in our hearts through faith. Our words, thoughts and actions will then be God-pleasing and make a difference in our personal lives as well as build up the lives of others.
Brethren, God does all the work, not us! It’s God’s strength, God’s insight and a God moment that delivers us out of stagnant Christianity. When each of these three things comes together, God’s Strength, Insight and a God moment what you end up with is a Peter who would gladly be crucified upside down! A Paul who said “for me to life is Christ and to die is gain”, a John who continued to write about the faithfulness of God from the island of Patmos in captivity.
Beloved children of God, God’s generosity; God’s superabundance is able to accomplish things in us and through us far beyond our ability to ask or imagine. I am calling upon you to pray for a God moment in your life that will allow you to taste and see the love of Christ, which leads to being filled with all the fullness of God.
PRAISE THE LORD!
