Is 55:9, Eph. 1:18-19
God is not a man. He is the transcendent Being, full of unlimited perfections and separate from
all that He created. His nature is therefore incomprehensible to finite minds. The truth of His
unlimitedness is one that the minds of men cannot relate with. Hence, there is the challenge of
projecting our limitations onto Him. It is this difference in plane and possibility that gives rise to
doubt and even unbelief. The human mind is burdened by the labor of mentally rationalizing the
declaration of God’s infinite capacity (Is 55:9).
How then can this difference in nature and capacity be bridged? The answer is in the Word and
in the fellowship of the Spirit. God’s word reveals the nature, the power, and the principles of
God. His Word reveals testimonies of miracles, signs, and wonders. It reveals His promises,
commitment, and character. God careful unveils Himself to us in His word because He is aware
that knowing is the first step into experiencing His unlimitedness. His immutability assures us
that He is still capable of the wonders we have read about in our lives today.
Additionally, God is Spirit, and He can only be known and worshiped in spirit. Hence, the Holy
Spirit oversees the revelation of God to humanity. He plants faith in our heart through the
instrument of the word. He reveals the pathway to knowing God and unveils the mysteries of
God’s principles. It is for these reasons that the Word and the Spirit are indispensable to the man
that seeks to know God. Do you seek to know God experimentally and partake of His
unlimitedness? Crave fellowship with the Holy Spirit and feast on the Word of God. The more
we know Him the more we experience and become a channel of His unlimitedness (Dan. 12:32).
