WHERE ARE YOU IN THE LORD? PT.2

ROM. 12:1-2

Every believer is born into God as a babe (Jn. 1:12). Unlike biological growth, spiritual (and every other type of) growth happens through active engagement. Every believer has a choice to maximize all that Christ has made available (1 Cor. 3:1-2). While it is true that God wants all His children to manifest His light for the world to see, there is the requirement that every believer be intentional about choosing and engaging the process of growing fully into Christ.

Brethren, though it easily slips through our focus, this world is passing away with its lusts and temporal pleasures. In a time when the world has lost its concern for her external destiny, believers must swim against the tide to focus on eternity. Our hope is immeasurable because it is not only of this world. It is for this reason that every believer must reject the mindset of this world and allow the Holy Spirit to grow us fully into Christ in all things.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, an important process that precedes growth is self-assessment. It is the process of evaluating one’s growth in Christ in area of character, maturity, and fruitfulness. It is to examine ourselves whether we are still in faith and whether we are growing in faith. It is important that we examine our obedience to the Word of God, how yielded to the Holy Spirit and how much of God’s love is reflected in our relationship with others. This is a time to reflect and examine ourselves as an initial step towards ensuring growth. Ask yourself, “Am I growing in Christ?

Prayer focus: Lord, I release myself to You, search my heart, help me see how much I have become like-Christ. Empower to overcoming every weakness hindering my growth in Jesusname.
