PSALMS 46:1-11

A refuge is a place where one flees for protection from danger or storms. A fortress is a defensive structure that allows its occupants to withstand the attacks of enemies. We all have need of a shelter, a shield and a source of protection where we can go into to find rest and to find peace.

Beloved, God doesn’t guarantee successes and a stress-free life but does promise that His love and presence will always be a part of our lives. Disasters, trials, tribulations and storms will occur and they are out of our control. We can however rest in the confidence of knowing nothing is a surprise to God and nothing is outside of His control. We can face life with courage because God is a mighty fortress. Psalm 121:1-2 says “I lift up my eyes to the hills–where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” We have no reason to fear when God is present in our lives. God’s love and presence in our lives is the one thing that no one can take away from us. When we put our trust in Jesus, He becomes our shelter and our refuge, He can keep us safe from the storms and the unexpected dangers of life.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, you must trust God as your hero. Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”! When we accept the Lord as our Savior, Refuge and Strength, the earth may be shaken, but the Lord and His eternal city will not fall. Disappointments, trials, tribulations are inevitable, so is God’s final victory. PRAISE THE LORD!

PRAYER POINT: My Father and my Lord, please restore my hope in you and allow me to trust You more deeply and completely with all areas of my life.
