Experience the victory in Christ

Experience the victory in Christ

Romans 8:31-37; Gen. 12: 12-20

Victory, for a child of God, is a relational privilege made available on basis of redemption from
sin and salvation into the Kingdom of God (Col. 1:13). We are also victors because the victor is
our captain (Romans 8:31). His victory over the enemy has been transferred to us. We have
access to His victory because He dwells inside of us (1 John 4:4). This victory is established
through our faith in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:4-5). The process of transferring Christ’s victory to us
is requires that we put faith to work by accepting and confessing this victory in our life. Faith is
also demonstrated in prayerfulness and confidence in the face of adversity based on assurance
provided in the word of God.

We are victors as long as we are crucified with Christ. Salvation involves going through
crucifixion with Christ and becoming a living sacrifice in the process, through Christ who now
lives in us. As our Lord and Master, His word and will is now law while our will and desire for
control are yielded to Him (Romans 12: 1-2). The only way a child of God can effectively live in
a continuous victorious life is to be completely yielded to Christ. This means we are willing to
share in the death of Christ, His humiliation, His resurrection, His power, anointing and triumph
over the devil (Gal. 6:1-8). The good news is that God has made provisions for the grace, power
and ability to do all these (Phil. 4:19). The Bible assures us that all needs and assistance required
to experience and enjoy this oneness with our Savior are already taken care of (2 Pet. 1:3). God’s
provisions to help us meet the requirements of yielded-ness is a testament of His commitment to
our victory.

Core traits of soldiers are discipline, preparedness and unquestioned obedience. These traits help
ensure that soldiers are trained, competent and effective. As soldiers of Christ, these traits are
also essential for victorious living. Being crucified with Christ involves submitting ourselves to
the discipline of the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. It also requires that we
accept His word as instructions that need to be obeyed fully. To fully enjoy His promise of
victory and dominion we must put the Word of God to practice in our daily lives. We must live,
walk and move in alignment with His will revealed in the Word or His instructions to us by His
Spirit in us. The only person who can stop us from living a victorious is we ourselves. Our
victory is guaranteed when we trust and are yielded to Him.

Prayer point: Lord, I receive grace to yield myself to you in all my ways. I receive grace to
surrender fully and obey completely in Jesus name.
