Luke 18: 35-43; Rom. 8: 31-39
Our God is worthy to be praised (I Chron. 16:25). He is deserving simply because He is God. This is the simplest explanation, even though there are a plethora reasons to praise Him (Ps. 66: 1-3). We can ponder on His love, His faithfulness, His unfailing mercy and His compassion. Our minds are simply to finite to grasp His worth. This means, at best, we will never praise Him enough. This fact further demonstrate God’s everlasting love towards. It is hard to imagine how He continues to pour such love on us even when He knows we cannot fully appreciate that kind of divine and perfect love (1 Jn. 4:19). It is love that released His only begotten as a ransom for you and I from sin and its bondage. It is hard to fully comprehend the immensity of the privileges of being joint-heirs with Christ (Eph. 3: 17-19, Rom. 8: 15-17). His love gives us the right to call God our Father and to make request of Him in prayer as children would their father (Rom. 8:15).
In Luke 18, we see a blind man, who many do not regard or consider deserving of any ounce of courtesy get Jesus’ full attention and an answer to his request. This shows that, as His beloved children, we have privileged access to His presence to cry Abba Father and to put our request before Him. His love for us means we can boldly come before the His throne and drop our burdens at His feet (Heb. 4:16). We also have the privilege of petitioning Him to honor His promises in our lives. This is such a wonderful opportunity that failure to maximize it would be nothing short of foolishness. The enemy is hoping to silence us through discouragement. His strategy is to make us forget how loved we are to the extent that we quit calling to out to our Father. The opposite must be the case. We must, in full assurance of God’s love, lift our voice in prayer to our Father who loves us so much, He gave us all things through Christ Jesus (Matt. 11:28-29).
Prayer point: Lord I cast all my care at your feet because I am assured that You love and care deeply for me. I receive every outstanding blessing, favor and promotion that you have for me this year in Jesus name.
