A refuge is a secure shelter or a place of protection from danger or distress where you hide especially when trouble comes. This place is in the presence of God Almighty. The Almighty God, who is also the Most High, is our refuge, if only we belong to Him. A fortress is a stronghold where you can fight from.

God is our fortress, a rock of defense, a shade of protection, a strong tower, our shield, and a shelter in the time of storm. He is Mighty to deliver, Mighty to save, the Mighty man in battle and the Lord of hosts. Our Heavenly Father does not only neutralize weapons designed against His children, He also protects them from harm. 2 Samuel 22:3 says: “The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior; thou savest me from violence.” David wrote this song of praise after God had helped him to overcome his enemies and rescued him from his foes. God likewise empowered all believers in Christ over snakes, scorpions, power of the enemy, and over demonic agents and all their activities. (Luke 10:19)

Proverbs 18:10 says “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe”. Brothers and sisters in Christ, the Word of God is trustworthy, reliable and dependable. Whatever you may be passing through, trust in God and call upon His name today. Shun any other alternatives the world may offer, and you will live in peace and safety.

PRAYER POINT: Father, thank you for being my hiding place and my refuge, please keep me secure for the rest of my life in Jesus’ Mighty Name.
