Heb. 13:15, 2 Chron. 20:1, 15-25
A recurrent biblical theme is the necessity of thanksgiving, praise and worship regardless of circumstance or challenges (Psalms 22:3; 100: 1-5; 150: 1-6). However, our reality is one of daily struggles in which life’s constant demands crowd out our praise to God. Sometimes it really is a sacrifice to offer praise. While it is human engage our emotions, it is important to remember that whatever gets our attention often shapes our focus. There’s power in our acknowledgement that God is worthy, above all else, of our worship and praise. So much power that praise is an indisputable and effectual weapon of warfare.
The natural man is prone to focus on the magnitude of his challenge, ferocity of the foe or enormity of a situation. His reaction to situations is often based on such observable facts (Num. 13:33; 1 Sam. 17:24). This attitude acknowledges the effort and power of the adversary with little attention paid to God’s omnipotence and sovereignty. Victory in battle requires that we deliberately focus on only what God can do in spite of our sight. Herein lies one of the greatest advantages of praise. It is a preoccupation with who God is, what He has done and what He is going to do. It intentionally neglects temporal success of enemy, disagrees with the lies of the adversary and abandons situational facts that do not align with Gods capability. Praise embraces the unchanging nature of The Almighty One. Praise lifts our eyes from the battle to the victory, for Christ is already the Victor, and we have Him in our heart that we might have His victory in our life (Ex. 15:2, Ps. 20:5, Heb. 2:8; Eph. 1:22).
Victory in battle requires powerful allies and an army. A common strategy of the enemy is to make us believe we are alone, defeated, or abandoned. Praise brings us to the consciousness of the guaranteed safety in God’s presences and releases the battle to our Captain. Praise in warfare is not telling God what to do, rather, it is believing that He knows the best possible means to win the battle. When we bring our praise with no ulterior motives, no attempts to “twist God arm” to come to us, our praises becomes a powerful weapon against the enemy and victory becomes a guarantee. Praise God today and see Him deliver victory to you.
Prayer point: Lord I receive grace to praise you without ceasing in all situation of life. Lord I surrender my battles to You today, arise and fight for me in Jesus name
