TEXT: II Corinthians 13:14
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all”. II Corinthians 13:14
Grace, love, and fellowship are the results of being in a relationship with God. Jesus shows us the grace of God; the Father shows us love and the Holy Spirit draws us into fellowship. Grace is unconditional love or favor shown toward a person who does not deserve it. It can be described as “mercy, not merit.” Jesus Christ is the part of the trinity who reveals to us God’s grace.
Notwithstanding that Jesus was abandoned by His friends and condemned by His countrymen, He prayed for them on the cross of Calvary and came back to save all people. He had the power to destroy His enemies but He offered them eternal life. “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is sufficient for us to meet any situation in life. We are enabled through His grace to do many things for the Lord, which we cannot do in our natural strength. (II Corinthians 12:9) Through the grace of our Lord, we have the supply of our needs as we receive prosperity through the poverty of Jesus Christ. (II Corinthians 8:9) God’s grace empowers everything in the Christian life.
Love is the characteristic that sacrifices for the wellbeing of that someone who is loved. God’s love is extreme that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. Love causes you to invest in the lives of others regardless of whether you know/like them or not.
Fellowship occurs when people who are in relationship are in communication. The Holy Spirit is the characteristic of fellowship in the Trinity and He motivates, guides and teaches us. The Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost filled the disciples and empowered them to communicate God’s plan of salvation to people who do not share a common language. When we have fellowship with the Holy Spirit, we get great confidence and courage to face the battles of life. (Isaiah.59:19)
Brothers and sisters in Christ, when you are in a relationship with God, you fellowship with Him through the power of the Holy Spirit and when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you seek fellowship with other Christians.
