God is three persons in one – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God became a man in Jesus so that Jesus could die for our sins. Jesus rose from the dead to offer salvation to all people through spiritual renewal and rebirth. The Holy Spirit is a real person who came to reside within Jesus Christ’s true followers after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. At the start of Christ’s mission in the world, The Holy Spirit came down on Him to empower Him to begin His mission of healing the human condition and starting a new creation.

Holy Spirit was given to live inside those who believe in Jesus, in order to produce God’s character in the life of a believer. The Holy Spirit builds into our lives love, kindness, peace, goodness, patience, faithfulness, joy, gentleness and self-control. The Holy Spirit also performs a function for non-Christians by convicting people’s hearts of God’s truth concerning how sinful we are and asking us to repent and turn to God for forgiveness and a new life.

When Jesus ascended into heaven, His physical presence left the earth, but He promised to send the Holy Spirit so that His spiritual presence would still be among mankind. The Holy Spirit first became available to all believers at Pentecost. (Acts 2) and is still available to all believers today. He will come upon believers in an extraordinary way and we should ask the Holy Spirit’s help as we face our daily problems as well as life’s major challenges.
