REVELATIONS 21:5; LUKE 19:1-8
Revelations 21:5 reads, “Behold, I make all things new”. God is informing you that no matter what state you are at this point and time of your life, He can make it new. That is exactly what God gives us when we enter into a personal relationship with Him. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”.
Beloved, God does not hold your past against you. No matter how good or bad your past is. you have a new beginning. Remember, it only takes one sin to separate us from spending an eternity in heaven with Jesus Christ. So you can have a new beginning by entering into a personal relationship with Him. You need a new beginning and when you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then you become a new person.
The opening verses of the Holy Bible in Genesis 1 describe God taking something that was “formless and void and filled with darkness” and creating a universe that is beautiful, whole, and filled with wondrous light. In the Exodus story, he took a people that were battered, enslaved, and without identity and forms them into a nation that is free, numerous and His own. But, as is the case with humanity and the material world, decay and rot set in. In time, the world of beauty God created and the humanity He fashioned became corrupted by evil, sin becomes master, and God’s creation drifts away from Him. But, God, the ultimate repairer and recycler picks up the broken pieces and fashions life anew.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, the renewal that Jesus brings to people can be seen throughout the gospel. We read in Luke 9 of the genuineness of Zacchaeus’ heart as seen in his words. He said to Jesus, “Look, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much” (Luke 19:8). Zacchaeus became a changed man. In Jesus, he found the ability to renew his heart and to humble himself. Jesus affirms his rebirth as a man: He says, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost”.
Beloved children of God, think over the unfair treatment you’ve given to others, the distance between yourself and your neighbors, the separation between yourself and God, repent and begin a new life today. Jesus can make all things new. He can take your past and replace it with a new outlook and a new course. He can take your sin, however great, and remove it, making you clean and new. He can take your life, wherever you are at, and instill within you a new resolve, a truer desire and purpose. Consider your life, follow the steps of Zacchaeus, making every effort to see Jesus who makes all things new.
PRAYER POINT: Almighty God, thank You for my new life in Christ which I have received by grace through faith. Please take me to greater heights today in Jesus precious Name, I pray.
