PSALM 105:17-22

Joseph who was born as 11th Son of Jacob and his life is an outstanding example of God’s plan for His faithful child. His brothers were jealous of him because he was his father’s favourite and they hated him because of his dreams. He was sold as slave, made prisoner and finally introduced to King as interpreter of dreams. All these were part of God’s plan (Gen.45:5) and at the end, Joseph was decorated with king’s dress and ornaments, and given exotic ride through the streets of Egypt.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, if we suffer for God, live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, patiently wait for the time of God, we will be exalted and honored. As a Christian, even when everything seems to be out of control, even when God seems to have abandoned us, in fact He is still in control and is working powerfully behind the scenes. You must not be afraid of the tough and hard times as God is doing His work in your life. You must endure difficulties and hardships. trusting God to see you through if you hold on to Him.

Beloved, despite the unpalatable turn around in his life, Joseph made the decision to trust God. He did not allow self-pity or bitterness to destroy him. He believed that God still had a plan for his life. He didn’t have to say anything. People just noticed. Even Potiphar noticed. Verses 3 & 4 say, “When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.” What a fantastic witness Joseph was!

Brethren, delayed blessing of God tests men and proves whether their faith can endure the fire. When unexpected trials and difficult circumstances arise, let us believe and trust God that He is NOT finished with us, wants to bless us but He is not in a hurry. Joseph made such an impression, and God blessed him so much, that Potiphar put him to charge of his whole estate. May the Good Lord help you to trust His word, accept His ways and wait for his appointed time.
