STRONGER THAN OUR ENEMIES

STRONGER THAN OUR ENEMIES

JOSHUA 10:1 – 14

The city of Gibeon was under siege from five kings – Adonizedek (Jerusalem), Hoham (Hebron), Piram (Jarmuth), Japhia (Lachish), and Debir (Eglon) and they have watched Joshua and the Israelites take over Jericho. The kings noticed that the Gibeonites have made an alliance with Joshua and because Gibeon is a great city, they decide they will take it so that Joshua will not get it. Joshua saw all the miracles God did back in Egypt, when He freed them from slavery. He saw God drop food from the sky for 40 years to feed his people, Israel. He saw how the Lord produced water from a rock. He has no doubt what God can do.

The men of Gibeon made an appeal to Joshua to come up to save their lives from peril. Joshua prayed to the Lord that the sun should stand still and God answered him. The sun stood still and delayed going down about a full day and the moon stopped until the Israelites defeated their enemies. Joshua 10:8 “And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee”. The Lord fought for the Israelites and made them stronger than their enemies.

Brethren, God is the Warrior who fights for His people. When we are operating on our own, we accomplish what knowledge, money, talent and education can do. When we walk with God, we accomplish what God can do.

PRAYER POINT: My Father and My Lord, please come through for me and make my enemies to become my footsteps.
