WELCOME TO 5885 CLEVELAND AVENUE.

2 CORINTHIANS 9: 6-9

Happy New Month and welcome to 5885 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. In the Bible text for
today, 2 Corinthians 9:6-9, Apostle Paul was saying as you sow so shall you reap! If you are sowing
iniquity then you shall reap iniquity, if you sow eternal salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ then you shall reap eternal salvation through our Lord and Savior just as He promised.
Beloved children of God, have you been giving generously of yourself in serving GOD and
have you been witnessing daily as God would want you to do? The Mission of this Parish is “to
connect people to Christ and membership of Church, bringing them to Christ-like maturity and
prepare them for their ministry purpose so that in everything God will be magnifie”. If you have
not, turn a new leave and start a new beginning of obedience as GOD would want you to do.
In order to evangelize and win souls for Christ, we should have a spirit of forgiveness for
those who have mistreated, blackmailed, lied against or took something that belongs to us. The
Lord’s Prayer in Psalms 23 says “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us”. Likewise, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5: verse 44 , “But I say unto you, Love your
enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you, and persecute you”. Forgiveness is a way to witness to people about what we
believe and about what we as Christians do! When you are at lunch or dinner with classmates or co-
workers, do you bow your head and say grace before your meal and offer “Thanks” after your meal.
This is a witness to others about what is important in your life. Brethren, how do you react when
someone around you tells a dirty joke or uses language that is filthy or WhatsApp to you a filthy
video. Do you relish it or even contribute to it or turn around and walk off or delete it. This says
much about you than anything else because it showed your true character. Our lives are our
witness to the whole world. When we do that other people see it and they want that same kind of
love, peace and forgiveness that we all have. It is God’s free gift to us but we are to live so others
can see it in us!
Brothers and sisters in Christ as we move to this new Church Building, the assignment ahead is
BIG but we know we serve a BIG GOD who owns “the cattle on a thousand hills”. He will provide
everything we need to get it done because where he leads he always provides. He has used a
number of people and funds to put this church on Cleveland Avenue, He will bless it and everything
will come together and this church will grow and prosper.
WELCOME TO 5885 CLEVELAND AVENUE AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING SUNDAY!
