TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON

TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON

ECCLESIASTES 3:1-8; PSALM 90:12

All glory, adoration and praises to the Almighty God for the nine years of our stay at the 2782 Westerville Road Church Building and for the provision of the new Church Building at 5885 Cleveland Avenue. “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”, and the secret to peace with God is to discover, appreciate and accept God’s perfect timing. A couple problems and trials came up in the last couple of years, but we thank God that these gave us opportunities to discover that without God, life’s problems have no lasting solutions. The secret to peace with God is to accept God’s perfect timing. The danger is to doubt God’s timing. This can lead to despair or moving ahead without God’s advice. Psalm 90:12 reads “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”. This Psalm was written by Moses, who had been the liberator and leader of the Israelites in the exodus and knew what a day meant. He spent 40 years of his life traveling the desert with the Israelites as they journeyed to the promised land. Brothers and sisters in Christ, God is committed to teaching us the value of our days. Christians are not to waste their lives pursuing pleasure but serve the Lord with all of their heart! Our purpose is to number our days by their significance to God. We must dedicate every minute of our day to worshipping and serving God. We as Christians can best manage our very lives based on the principles of the one who came so that we may have life and have it abundantly. Ephesians 5:15-16 says “Therefore be careful how you live, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil”. Time is given to us to prepare for eternity. We will fail to live out our time wisely if we fail to live it out in light of eternity.
