TEXT: 2 CHRONICLES 7:14
Revival may be described as a religious awakening, a rousing from spiritual slumber, a rekindling of a dying spiritual flame or a refilling of a dying spiritual lamp with Divine oil. Revival comes when God restores Spiritual vitality and brings a new life. God desires to bring us back to the place of personal relationship with Him where we are meant to be. A backslider is a person who was once emptied of their own ways and filled with the ways of God, but gradually allowed their own ways to seep back until they are all but empty of God. Revival is a time when Christians collectively humble themselves before God in true repentance. (Lamentations 3:40-42). It is a time when Christians and sinners collectively rejects the idols in their lives and collectively seek the Lord afresh and wholeheartedly. (2 Kings 23:4) Idols are anything that is striving to displace God as our number one priority. It is a time of spiritual repairs after satanic destruction and restoration of the joy of Salvation and divine blessings. The more we seek the Lord the more the desire to pray more often develops in us until it envelops us. Beloved children of God, we must feel the need for revival when we study the Words of God less than before or pray much less than was our pattern. When your love for material wealth is overriding your longing for spiritual wealth when you become easily aggravated or when your faith grows week. (John 2:15-17) Brothers and sisters in Christ, we need to humble ourselves before the Most High in true repentance confessing and rejecting our sins. We need to seek the Lord our Redeemer afresh that we might enjoy the blessings of revival. PRAISE THE LORD!
