Psalm 85: 1-13 Psalm 85:6 “Will You not Yourself revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You?”
Revival is the extraordinary work of God among His people causing extraordinary results in and through the church. It is the outflow of the Spirit of God through the regenerated spirit of man. (John 7:38-39). It is a process that God uses to change the world and bring His people back to him. Children of God, revival could be for those who are completely lost and also for the faithful who have lost the fire of their faith. It is for those who need a fresh anointing from God. In fact, revival is for every single person on earth who can respond when God calls. Revivals are from God and are always occasions for great joy. However, before we can have revival, we must confess our need for revival. Multitudes are without God and without hope in the world (Ephesians 2:12); most of them are outside the churches, and revival is the only key to this tragic situation. Even the churches are becoming worldly and lack spiritual power and vitality. Many Christians have left their first love for God and only revival can alter this state of affairs. Worldly Christians will be slow to admit the possibility of revival, but the promises of God confirm it. (2 Chronicles 7:14; Jeremiah 33:3) God is the only source of revival and we must not look upon men, churches or denominations – but upon Him. When we look to man, we get what man can do; when we look to money, we get what money can do; when we look to organization, we get what organization can do; when we look to denominations, we get what denominations can do; but when we look to God, we get what God can do. Psalm 62:5. Prayer is the means for securing revival and we must be ready to receive the full blessing of God and to be channels through whom that blessing can flow. Beloved, the greatest barrier to revival is sin and the Word of God says in Romans 6:1 “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid”. If you are living in sin or in disobedience to the Lord, then revival is far from you. The results of revival include “that your people may rejoice in you” – fellowship and walking with God, agreement with God (Amos 3:3) – being right with God, salvation, peace, glory, harmony, increase and provision.
I pray that we may become deeply burdened for God to send a full-scale Holy Ghost revival in our land and indeed throughout the world. Praise the lord!
