VICTORY OVER FLESH

VICTORY OVER FLESH

1 CORINTHIANS 6:14-20

Beloved, God created us to live in a way to display His supreme excellence in every aspect our lives. He calls us to pray, plan and work to make much of Him every day. Even though in Christ, we have the freedom to live our lives without fear of being eternally rejected by Him for the things we do, we are also responsible not to allow our freedom to become a stumbling block to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our freedom in Christ is not to allow the flesh to control us. Romans 14: 8 says; “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s”. Our freedom in Christ is not a license to sin and our lives are identified by our actions. If you live in the flesh you will produce works of the flesh and if you live in the Spirit you will bring forth fruit of the Spirit. We must not yield ourselves over to our sinful nature instead of the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We must flee sexual immorality and other sinful situations like idolatry, stealing, drunkenness, jealousy, anger and unforgiveness. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit fills and lives in us. We must treat our body like God;s temple which it is because we have been bought with the price of Jesus Christ when He died on the cross. Brothers and sisters in Christ, we must appreciate that our co-workers, course mates, neighbors and friends are watching how we live our lives. Most of us Christians live for comfort and pleasure. To live is Christ and to die is gain, we must live and die boasting in the cross of Christ and make the glory of God our singular passion. When we spend our time wisely and live our lives in a manner that brings glory to God, we would have been victorious over flesh. PRAISE THE LORD!

PRAYER POINT: My Father and my Lord, I know that to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace, please help me in battling temptations and cleanse me of all lustful desires.
