Brethren, the Bible teaches us that loving people with God’s love should be the foremost thing in our mind as followers of Christ. Love is the greatest of all human qualities and involves unselfish service to others. Love is an act of endless forgiveness. Proverbs 3:1-4 reads “My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man”. Answering a question from the Pharisees in 22nd Chapter of Epistle of St. Mathew: “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus Christ said in Matt. 22:37-40, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. and the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets”. Obeying God’s commands is always out of a heart of appreciation for who God is and what He has done for us! Brothers and sisters in Christ, the best way to demonstrate to others that you truly love God will be that you love all people. Unfortunately, this includes the unlovable.Love is not what you say but what you do. We must love according to God’s definition of love because we must never allow ourselves to be in the position of Christ having something against us. Romans 5:8 read “but God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. God sent His son as a demonstration of His love. Jesus came to demonstrate His love, the unfailing and unconditional love that God has for sinners like you and me. He loved unconditionally His friends as well as His enemies, the sick and the healthy, those who loved Him and those who hated Him, the rich and the poor, the young and the old and even the untouchables. We must demonstrate our love for others by sharing with them the love of Christ and let Christ do the rest. Jesus Christ loved His own who were in the world that He denied Himself and undertake the greatest efforts and undergo the greatest sufferings for our sake. The more we become like Christ, the more love we show to others. PRAISE THE LORD!
