JESUS – NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

JESUS – NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

 PHILIPPIANS 2: 1-12.

Mathew in giving the account of the birth of Jesus Christ in Mathew 1:21 says “She (Mary) will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins”. This means that Salvation only comes through this Name. The greatest thing about Jesus is that we can be saved and be delivered from a life of sin, bondage, and eternal separation from God. Dearly beloved, no other name in history has had, or will ever have, the impact that the name of Jesus has. When we speak that name – Jesus, demons tremble in fear and awe, sickness and disease obey His command, the winds and waves cease to roar. No other name can bring peace to a troubled heart and soul, encourage the depressed and discouraged, give strength to the weak and lonely, and bring deliverance to a sin-sick soul like the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus brings all the power of God to meet every need that anyone will ever have. The problem is that not all men will call upon Him in their hour of need. Mark’s Gospel recounts God’s amazing healing power. A woman sick with an incurable condition for 12 years was aware that there is one whose cleanness will make her clean and His holiness will make her holy. She said, if I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole. Straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up and she was healed of that illness at the touch of Jesus’ garment. Likewise, Peter and John came to the Gate called Beautiful and came across the man who had been crippled since birth. Peter said: “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Peter took hold of the man’s right hand and lifted him up. In that moment, “STRENGTH” came into that man’s feet. He lept up and began to dance around and he praised God! Brethren, the Name of Jesus is powerful and the effect upon your life depend on how you treat Him; whether you accept Him or not. If you have never taken that step of faith to ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life, I encourage you to do that today. This is the day to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord!
