PRAISE AS A WEAPON

EXODUS 15: 1-10

Beloved children of God, the fact that you are a Christian does not give you an automatic victory but doorway to the victory that has been won for you by Christ. This victory comes when you identify your position in God and you use all the equipment available to you to win all battles. The Lord is engaged in a spiritual war against the ungodly that remain obstinate and rebellious against him. “He judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day”. The Lord is a victorious and Kingly Warrior and all the inhabitants of heaven and earth are at His command. After the Israelites crossed the Red Sea, Pharaoh and the Egyptians were destroyed. Moses and the Israelites began to praise the Lord. The fifteenth chapter of the Book of Exodus is a festive praise song celebrating God’s victory and lifting the hearts and voices of the people. Brothers and sisters in Christ, there are times when it is more important to praise God than to pray to Him a prayer of intercession. Praise lifts your eyes from your circumstances to your almighty Father who is ruler over all. Not one circumstance in your life can come without His permission and that means that He has a way of causing it to work together with other things for His glory and your good. Praise lifts your eyes from the battle to the victory. We may not see all things under His feet but they are there in a the spiritual realm. (Heb. 2:8; Eph. 1:22). When you need faith there are two steps to take – go to God’s Word, and begin praising Him. Praise in warfare is not telling God what to do, but rather that we believe that He knows what the best possible means to win the battle. We are not focusing on the enemy or the warfare but we are transferring the battle into a mighty man of war. Victory is then certainly a sure thing. Praise does not flatter God to incur his favor but enthrones Him back on His throne where He belongs. It is our individual responsibility to praise Him! There are a few things that you need to deal with. You need to deal with any known sin in your life before getting into the worship and you must give glory due to His name by bringing an offering to His court. You need to enter cheerfully and wholeheartedly into the praise of God. When we bring our praise to God with a sincere heart, our praises will become a powerful weapon against the enemy. PRAISE THE LORD!
