Happy Easter to you all, brothers and sisters in Christ.
Easter Sunday celebrates one of the greatest days in history – when Jesus, the Son of God, defeated death and rose from the grave. The average person today faces a veritable supermarket of religions from which to choose. The great difference between Christianity and the other religions of the world is that their leaders are dead and lie in their burial tombs. However, Jesus Christ died, but is risen and the tomb is empty. Acts 1:3 says there are “many convincing proofs” that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. “After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God”. The New Testament records at least 12 separate appearances of Jesus after His Resurrection. He appeared sometimes to individuals—such as Mary and Peter, sometimes to a small group—such as the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, sometimes to a larger group—such as the disciples. All these point to one conclusion and one only: Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
Beloved, when Jesus walked out of the tomb, the people of God walked out with Him! Death could not keep its prey; Jesus rose from the grave; Jesus has conquered our last enemy. He solved the problem of death forever because He entered the realm of death on our behalf and He came out on the other side holding the keys of death and hell in His hands!
The Resurrection is a non-negotiable doctrine of the Christian faith. It is truly the heart and soul of our faith. If Jesus is still dead, then our faith is in vain. A dead Jesus cannot save anyone. Everything we believe stands on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, then he is not the Son of God. He could not be our Savior and Lord if He is still dead in the tomb. Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Christians can be open minded on many issues, but not on how we are saved from sin. No other religious teacher could die for our sins and rise from the dead.
On this happy Easter morning I declare to you that Jesus Christ is alive.
HAPPY EASTER TO CHRISTIANS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
