1 PETER 2:24
Disease and sickness are constant in the world, but God heals all diseases and
sicknesses. Our Creator and Savior has the ability to heal and make whole. He
heals spiritually, physically and emotionally. There are many instances in the Bible
where recovery from sickness is in direct answer to prayer. The case of Hezekiah
in Isaiah 38:1-5 comes to mind. In Acts 5.12-16, we read that the sick were laid in
the streets “so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he
passed by”. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing
their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed”.
God heals through His Word “He sent out his word and healed them; he
rescued them from the grave”. (Psalm 107:20). The stripes of Jesus heal the sick. 1
Peter 2:24 says “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that
we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were
healed.” The stripe of Jesus has already made provisions for your healing; you
only need to access it. It is available to you as a child of God because He was
beaten for your sake.
Prayer is one essential means of obtaining the divine favor, and there is no
place where it is more appropriate than by the bed-side of the sick. James 5:14-15
says , “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray
over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer
offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they
have sinned, they will be forgiven”. The prayer of faith heals sicknesses because
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16b).
God used Paul to heal in miraculous ways. Acts 19:11-12 says “God gave Paul the
power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had
merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their
diseases, and evil spirits were expelled”.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, conditions for divine healing are
righteousness, obedience to God’s laws and commandments and faith in God.
Exodus 15:26 says “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right
in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will
not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD,
who heals you”. Obedient children of God will not suffer from diseases. He says
in Psalms 91:10 “no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent”.
If we even fall sick due to our own carelessness or sin, God is able to heal and
restore (Jeremiah 30:17). He/She that desires healing must believe that God
is able to heal. Faith and fear cannot exist together. One is of God, the other, the
devil. (James 1:6-8) Many times, in the Bible, Jesus would say: “Your faith has
made you whole. “It is the prayer of faith that heals the sick.” The Lord will have
mercy and restore your health in Jesus’ Name.

hands and make me whole in Jesus Mighty Name.
