Brothers and sisters of Christ, our acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior brings us trouble as the forces of
hell work day and night to break down our loyalty and allegiance to God’s Son. Our temptations multiply
daily instead of diminishing. We have this warning in 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”. Satan has one goal;
to take as many people to Hell with him as possible. Jesus has one goal; to take as many people to
Heaven with Him as possible. John 10:10 “The thief’s purpose is to steal and to kill and to destroy. My
purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” Satan takes delight in victimizing us particularly when
our guard is down and our defenses are low, feeling helpless, suffering or being persecuted and are cut
off from other believers. However, if we are truly children of GOD, then we should know that we do not
have to remain victims!
Children of the Most High God, to be victorious, you must fight the good fight of faith, putting on the
whole armor of God. Eph.6: 11 says “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil” and trusting God’s Omnipotence. Philippians .4: 13 says “I can do all
things through Christ which strengthened me.” You must pursue righteousness – personal integrity,
Godliness – conducting oneself in such a way so as to conform to the character of God. You must have
faith, love, endurance and gentleness. (1 Timothy 6: 11 ) You must flee wrong doctrine, 1 Tim.6: 3-5
worldly discontent. (1 Tim.6: 6-10) and wicked desires (2 Tim.2: 22)
Brethren, you can become victorious by walking victoriously in God and continuing to fight the good
fight of faith! 1 John 5:4 says “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that
has overcome the world, even our faith”. We can live a victorious life through Jesus Christ! 1
Corinthians 15:57 says “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”. We
can be victorious if we turn to the Lord, since He knows our every weakness. “For we do not have a high
priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in
every way, just as we are–yet was without sin” Hebrews 4:15. God is faithful; He will not let you be
tempted beyond what you can bear.
The Bible is an offensive weapon which to resist the devil and fight against him.1 Cor. 10:13. God’s Word
is a sword to use in spiritual combat. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to
man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Do you want victory over fear,
alcohol, sex, laziness, drugs, doubts, opposition, gossip, walk closer to God and you will walk further
from sin? Increase your relationship with God and it will make you a victorious, loving and godly wife,
husband, teacher, worker and friend.
PRAYER FOCUS: O Lord, convert my struggling to victory in Jesus Name.
