Proverbs 22: 6
God’s plan is that children be raised in families, by a father and a mother. So, by inference,
Godly children are to be raised by Godly parents, since one cannot give what he does not have.
However, there are instances when God went out of this norm to raise people unto Himself,
either because one of the parents or both were not available or are themselves not Godly.

Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 1:5, referred to timothy’s faith in God as having been found first in his
grandmother and mother. The same Apostle Paul in Philemon 1:10 referred to one Onesimus as
“becoming his son”

Beloved brethren, God is looking for not just parents, but people who will “bring them
(children) up in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6: 4). May we not fail God in
this responsibility.

PRAYER FOCUS. My Father and my Lord, help me to train my children toward right thinking
and right living.
