PRAISING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES

PRAISING GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES

Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, it is easy to praise God when we have just got a new job, recently got promoted at work, tied the nuptial knots or pass an examination we have studied hard for during a period of a couple of years.

However, when the storm clouds gather, the grades start to slip, life become tough, the last thing we feel like doing is praising God. Howbeit, this is the very time when we need to lift our voices to Him in praise. Paul and Silas, (Acts 16)
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego ( Daniel 6), Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20) praised God when enveloped in difficult problems and God was glorified in their situations.

A sacrifice of praise is something that we offer to God in times of wellbeing and in times of sorrow. It does not lesson our sorrow or, in many cases, change our immediate circumstances. It will, however, bring light to our darkness — a light that Satan cannot dim. Our deepest gratitude, honor, and glory belong to the Lord. Praise Him for He is worthy to be praised! (Psalm 18:3) God’s hand is to be seen in all the troubles of Christians and that will help to extenuate them and make them seem light.

Praise teaches us to turn our eyes away from circumstances to the One who has the ability to heal, renew, and mend every broken heart. Nehemiah 8 verse 10 wrote, “The joy of the Lord is your strength” When we praise God, we proclaim our faith in Him. The psalmist in Psalm 71:14-15 writes, “As for me, I will always have hope. I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure”. Praise teaches us to be joyful and thankful regardless of our circumstances.

Beloved, we always need God’s help, particularly when troubles come. He is always our constant help. We must never despair, but keep on expecting His help no matter how severe our limitations. Hope in Him helps us to keep going, to keep serving and praising the Lord. PRAISE THE LORD.

PRAYER POINT: O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous
things, things planned long ago.
