WHY PRAISE GOD?

WHY PRAISE GOD?

Praising God is an expression of worshipping and glorifying the Lord. We must praise Him because He is God and He is worthy. The act of praise is something that is for every living, breathing individual. God has even given animals and birds and so on an opportunity to praise Him. He tells them to “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord”. (Psalm 150:6)

Our praise of God defeats our enemy, puts evil to flight and grant us victory through Divine interventions. (2 Chron 20:20-22) Praise brings down the presence of God into the situation. Psalm 22:3 says “God inhabits praise”. Psalm 16:11 tells us that “when the presence of God comes down, there is fullness of joy.” When you praise God, it makes God to move on behalf of you, the praise giver (Joshua 6:20). When you praise God and He descends, the atmosphere changes (2 Chronicles 5:13-14), and He performs miracles, signs and wonders (Exodus 15:11). When you praise God, curses are broken and blessings follow (Psalm 67:5-7). The earth will yield its increase and God blesses His people. When you praise God, you experience deliverance from every band that is holding you bound, because God descends into the arena praise is coming from (Acts 16:25-26).

Brethren, praise promotes our overall wellbeing because joy is released to strengthen our troubled souls. (Nehemiah 8:10) When we praise God despite how we feel or what we are going through, we declare our dependency on Him and acknowledge that we are not in control of our lives. As a result, we receive peace and strength in place of worries and burdens. Praise shifts the focus of our mind away from ourselves and our reality to God and His infinite possibilities, and then we begin to see how great God is compared to the size of our problems. Praise brings deliverance (Jonah 2:5-10). Beloved those who have the attitude of praising God live in abundance – God inhabits our praises (Psalm 22:3), and gives us access to His fullness (Psalm 16:11). God is pleased when we praise Him as that is the main purpose of our creation. (Isaiah 43:21)

PRAYER POINT: “From the rising of the sun, to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” (Psalm 113:3)
