WOMEN OF GLORY,

WOMEN OF GLORY,

Women have always been at the forefront of the work of God. Deborah and Esther in the old Testament saved the nation of Israel from destruction. Jesus’ ministry was supported by a group of women (Luke. 8:3). We can also add that women were the last at the cross, first at the tomb, first met the resurrected Christ, and then carried the news to the apostles! Exodus 38:8 tells about women making unusual donations to construct the Tabernacle. Their gifts speak volumes about their love for God.

The Bible shows a person what they truly look like in the sight of God. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Heb. 4: 12). A woman of glory dresses modestly and discretely and adorns herself with “good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God” (1 Timothy 2:9–10). She demonstrates submission, modesty and femininity by their words and deed. A woman of glory must pray, show love to one another, teach the younger women, train up their children in the ways of the Lord and bring glory to God in all they do.

Women of glory control their thoughts and emotions and do not allow them to control them. They also control their tongue and their speech is one that edifies and encourages rather than tearing down with idle gossip. Women of glory do not allow profanity and “unwholesome talk” to come out of their mouths (Ephesians 4:29). They submit to their husband using Sarah as an example to be emulated: “They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord”. (1 Peter 3:6) She has a heavenly focus, and she seeks to adorn herself with godliness, not worldliness”.
Women of glory have sincere faith like Eunice and Lois (2 Timothy 2:5). They show good judgment, generosity, and prudence as did Abigail (1 Samuel 25). They are kind, like Ruth (Ruth 1:8). They live righteously, as Elizabeth did (Luke 1:5–6). They are of noble character and seek to follow the example set by the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:10–31.

PRAYER POINT: My Father, my Father, please help me to live the life of a virtuous woman in Proverbs 31.
