PHILIPPIANS 3: 7-11.
There is a price to be paid as a follower of Jesus Christ and that
was why Paul had to sacrifice everything, he had ever been in order for
him to have a knowledge of the power that raised Jesus from the grave.
Because, that resurrection distinguished Jesus from every other person
in history and it is the power behind that resurrection that Paul now
desire to know.
Christianity comes with a price contrary to the modern-day false
teachings that Christianity is freedom from suffering and challenges.
Paul knew that to be a follower of Christ, sharing in His suffering is
inevitable. Persecutions are part of the package and part of the price to
be paid. Paul also identified that, to be a Christian, another price to pay
is to conform with the death of Christ, that is to die to the world of sin
and temptation, to kill the old man and be fully transformed to be like
Christ.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, Christianity comes with a price. Are
you willing to pay the price that you may inherit eternity with Him on the
last day?
PRAYER POINT: Father please help me to pay whatever price I must
pay here on earth so that I will not become a cast away on the last day
in Jesus name.
