ACTS 1: 8

Jesus Christ was responsible for all the needs, including the spiritual needs of His disciples when He was in this world. Before His departure from the world, He gave them the Great Commission as in Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. When He was about to ascend to heaven, He recognized that they would need power and declared in Acts, chapter 1 verse 8, He says “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth”. The great commission is the Mission Statement of this Parish – RCCG Abundant Life Chapel, Columbus, Ohio. The disciples and all we followers of Christ are to witness to the world that Jesus Christ had paid the penalty for sin and that those who believe in Him can be forgiven and live eventually with God.

Beloved, God wants us to be filled with His Spirit and power, but you must first, confess and repent of any known sin, (1 John 1:9), (Acts 26:2)ask the Holy Spirit to fill and empower you to walk in obedience to Christ and reconcile with anyone who might hold something against you due to your sinful choices.(Matthew 5:23-24). When you are endowed with Spiritual power from above,you get the ability to preach the word with boldness,(Acts 4:13-14) heal the sick (Luke 4:18) overcome every power of the enemies (Mark 16:17-18) and do greater works than Jesus did. (John 14:12).
