PROVERBS 18:10
Proverbs 18:10 says “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe”. Brothers and sisters in Christ, we can always turn to the “name of the Lord” for protection and security from our enemies and physical harm and be “safe”. Joseph was saved from death many times because of his trust in the Lord. Noah – the only obedient follower of God in his generation, was saved from the floods and we read in Acts 12 how Peter was miraculously saved from prison and execution.
God is the creator of all that exists and no problem is beyond His ability to solve or any circumstance too difficult to Him. Psalm 124, verse 8 says “Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”. Some of the help the Lord offers is described in Psalm 18:2-3, “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies”. God’s protection of His children is limitless and can take many forms. God is like a rock that cannot be moved by any that plans to harm us, a shield that comes between us and harm and a horn of salvation -a symbol of might and power. He is also a stronghold that is higher than our enemies and will always provide a way out, if only we trust Him and look for it.
Beloved in Christ, if you need protection, look to God. Sometimes when you feel that God would quickly rescue you from your troubles, remember that He can either deliver you or be your support as you go through them. (Psalm 18:18) When you feel overwhelmed by troubles, tribulations and afflictions, ask God to help you, hold you steady and protect you. The name of Jesus gives us not only the source of our security, but also gives us the “Strong Tower” which can withstand any attack of the enemy. If you reside in an earthly tower, you will fall to Satan’s attack. In His care, you are never helpless. PRAISE THE LORD.
